Columbia Green completes sponsorship of Seibel's Garden
Columbia Green this month gave the Historic Columbia Foundation $15,000, thus completing its five year pledge of $75,000 toward garden renovations of the Seibels House on Richland Street. The garden work is part of a Historic Columbia's cultural landscape master plan to transform the gardens of seven historical sites to reflect period appropriate settings spanning the past 150 years of southern garden history. The Seibel's House is considered a landmark property and is one of the city's most popular venues for weddings, corporate meetings, holiday parties and other organized events. The backyard garden was renovated in 2007 and incorporates native and exotic plantings that reflect the Colonial Revival period of the early 20th century.
